Everything you need to know about 50/50 Fitness/Nutrition
The meaning behind the name:
Over time, we all develop a sense of what it means to be “healthy”, either through information we read, pick up through friends or loved ones, or discover ourselves. There’s so much information out there that it’s often difficult to determine what’s right and how we should go about our lives. But we do; we make those decisions and our our lives are impacted, for better or worse. Our goal here was and is not to search for the next quick fix,, fad, or trend. In other words, we’re not looking for a cure. We’re not interested in the one solution for everyone methodology, albeit machines at a gym, a work out of the day, or the latest and greatest diet.
The core of 50/50 Fitness/Nutrition represents balance. We’re not saying you should focus half your time on this, half your time on that, etc. The truth is, very few people have balance in their lives. Everything is so intertwined and so connected that as one area suffers, others are sure to follow suit. Your body is the biggest and most prominent example of this. So with that being said, our job isn’t to simply prescribe you a new exercise or diet plan. It becomes much more than that. 50/50 represents a chance to grow, to identify problem areas, and to obtain the tools that you need to finally find that balance in your life, for the rest of your life.
What is a Health & Fitness Specialist?
At 50/50 Fitness, we don’t use the term “personal trainer”. The experience that we try to foster with each of our clients is extremely unique. We believe that the relationship should extend far beyond the scope of the session to include support in all aspects of your life. We’ll never meet with you then say “see you later or see you next time”. What about all of the decisions you’ll be forced to make before next time? It’s too hard to see the results we all crave without a commitment on both ends. The mutual understanding is that we are always equally as invested in this process as you are. We work together to create something achievable and workable by clearly defining goals, and outlining the processes that are going to get us there.
We are all so incredibly different. All of you come from very different backgrounds, move differently, and work differently. You have different hobbies, different learning methods, and different personalities. The list goes on and on. A good personal trainer will give an effective, safe, well-prepared and documented work out. A health and fitness specialist first begins to address all of these individual differences by gathering as much information as he/she possibly can. From there, he/she will determine the appropriate course of action based on your life, your schedule, and your goals, while incorporating all of the things that you love as part of an overall, big-picture program–one that’s sustainable and constantly evolving. As a result, the relationship is long-lasting and the results are long-lasting, the way it should be.
How is 50/50 Fitness/Nutrition different than Energia Fitness?
Aside from location and class offerings, the two are one in the same. 50/50 Fitness was built on the same philosophy, using the same vision we’ve had all along. Part of what makes Energia special is the community atmosphere and overall positive energy that you experience the moment you walk through the door. Our hope is to continue to grow our community without sacrificing or losing sight of what makes us unique. Our mission is to continue to provide personal attention and guidance to every person that visits us, that each experience is a positive one, and that all workouts are carefully crafted to meet the individual needs of our members.
How will the two locations be integrated?
The main reason that we looked to expand our Energia class offerings is because we felt that we were losing our ability to really meet the needs of our members. It’s not about space, or classes being over capacity, or even having to move the bikes around constantly (OK, maybe that was part of it). It’s more extensive than that. It all comes back to balance and setting you up for success. Our classes are largely adaptable. We modify to cater to all ability levels and all ages. We focus on strength training, large versus smaller muscle groups, cardiovascular health, spinning versus running, flexibility and mobility, nutrition, and so much more. We’re certainly not all perfect in all of those areas. We’ve expanded our offerings so you have the opportunity to create something special, a unique blend of classes that makes sense for you, which compliment one-another and help shape your progress over time.
How do I get started?
Stop by either one of our locations before or after a class to check us out! We’re more than happy to give you a tour, answer any questions you may have, and schedule you a complimentary fitness consultation. You’ll be able to meet with one of our health & fitness specialists to talk about your health history, current routine, and goals moving forward. We’ll work with you on establishing a plan to get you started in and out of the gym.
If you’re anxious to jump right in and try out a class, you can view the schedule here and sign up by creating an account.
