Weekly Weigh-in
Each week, over the course of the program, you will be required to weigh-in either at home (by submitting a picture of your scale via email), or in the studio… beginning exactly one week from your start-up date. If you’re sending in photos from home, they need to come in on your weigh-in day, or they are not counted for that week.
Program Updates
Every Sunday, you will receive a weekly email with nutritional guidance, a fun fitness challenge, and updates on the progress of the competition. The individual who loses the greatest percentage of body fat will be announced and receive the prize for that week. Prizes include class packages, gift cards, nutritional products, and fitness gear.
4 Week Follow-Up
Any time during the month of February, you can schedule a 30 minute follow-up session with one of our personal trainers. During this time, you can discuss your progress and reassess measurements, modify your program/routine, and review your food journal entries.
Final Weigh-in
8 weeks from your start-up date, the challenge will end with a final weigh-in, “after” pictures (pics are always optional), and a comprehensive follow-up assessment to discuss your plans moving forward.
Cost
The entry fee for the 8-week program is $150.
Cash Grand Prize
$50 of each person’s entry fee will be placed into a cash pool. At the end of the 8 weeks, the money in the pool will be split amongst everyone who has lost 8% of their total body weight (1%/week).
To calculate how much weight you’d need to lose to win the cash prize, take your body weight and multiply it by .08.
Sample Calculations:
For a 150 lb person…150 x .08 = 12 lbs of total weight loss in 8 weeks.
For a 200 lb person… 200 x .08 = 16 lbs of total weight loss in 8 weeks.
With 20 participants, the eligible cash prize would be $1,000
With 50 participants, the eligible cash prize would be $2,500
With 100 participants, the eligible cash prize would be $5,000
Bonus Point System
In addition to the weekly giveaways & grand prize, three additional prizes will be awarded to the individuals who have accumulated the most bonus points by the end of the competition. First place will receive a 10 session personal training package ($500 value). The second prize winner will receive a 10 class package ($100 value). The third place winner will receive a kitchen pantry makeover ($75 value). Bonus points are awarded as follows…
Log one full week of your foods on MyFitnessPal – 3 points per week
Take a class at Energia – 1 point per class (max of 25 in the competition)
Log 1 hr of workouts outside Energia – 1 point for every hour of activity logged in your composition book (max of 50). You’ll receive a list of accepted forms of activity at your initial meeting.
Complete the Weekly Fitness Challenge – 1 point each
Win a Weekly Weigh-in – 5 points
*There will be 25 “hidden” bonus points scattered at various stages of the competition that will be up for grabs.
New for 2015!
Register by December 1st, and receive a voucher for one complimentary, interactive workshop ($15 value). There are currently two workshops scheduled during the competition. More details to follow.
We will have a Grand Opening and New Year’s Celebration Party in our new studio on January 3rd, from 4-6PM. At 3PM, we will be holding an informational session for the Weight Loss Challenge, along with a Q & A, to clear up any confusion. This will also be the last opportunity to register for the program.

Finally, we will be running one grocery store tour per month, free of charge for all participants. During each of these trips, we’ll meet at a different grocery store and offer tips for smart shopping and what/what not to look for.
